Hello, first of all, I want to thank you for visiting my site! I listed some of my life experiences that I have done, because in spite of the accomplishments and the smile, I am a survivor of attempted murder and rape. Because of the attack on my life, I also had other "life experiences," PTSD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, startle effect, uncontrollable crying spells, flashbacks and insomnia. I decided to take my life experiences, good and bad, and turn them into my victory story. I share my story to connect to others and to my peers, so that I can use my certified training, I call it a gift, to help others.
I believe people living with mental illness should know all the avenues available to them, so that they can make an informed choice about their healing/recovery journey and that no one should ever be ashamed or embarrassed because of their condition, whether mild or severe.
I became a CPS because I truly believe in the effectiveness of the work of a Certified Peer Specialist, in helping people to heal and recover. In addition, I love that I can offer programs in the workforce, to facilitate workplace wellness. My goal is to help people, families, businesses, our communities, and our nation, in promoting happy, healthy lifestyles!
